WK-0701 TX setup after brushless upgrade
To set the correct Pitch Curve and Swash Travel using the V1 & V2 knobs.
First is to set the Dip Switch #10 to the on position "right" you will see that the light on the
TX will chage from Pink to Blue. This means that the PIT is currently accepting
programming.
Turning the V1 knob clockwise increases the value of blade pitch by means of moving the
swashplate more on the positive side
At mode 1 (3D) this should be set at center where positive and negative travel of swash is
equal to get the most of the pitch curve in 3D flight.
At Normal Mode Set initial pitch to at least -1° this is to provide altitude drop during throttle
down for stability during landing in gusty winds.
The V2 knob increases and decreases the amount of swash travel setting the limit
between the positve and negative pitch.
This can be measured easily using a Pitch guage. As good advice, better get a pitch gauge
to measure the amount of pitch that the blade creates.
When setting is corrected just switch back the Dip Switch #10 to lock the desired settings.
The TX light will turn back to Pink.
Next is adjusting the Throttle Curve and Servo swash movement or servo exponential.
Flip the dip switch # 11 to the ON position, the Walkera light will turn Orange meaning it is
accepting new settings.
both the 3D mode and Normal mode can be set independently If you flick the switch to
normal mode. Settings will be done in this mode only. Incresing the V1 knob will increase
the throttle curve upward, up to 80% and decreasing the knob will set the throttle to
negative or downward throttle up to 40%. Setting the knob at center will provide you with
linear throttle throughout the stick's travel.
This will decrease the throttle curve to prevent hard start up during throttle up. This will
lessen the rotation encountered during power up and give most pilots better control of the
throttle.
Now the V2 sets the servo function. Set it at center. The servo exponential is linear.
Increasing the value increases the rate of pitch up to center stick, and flat out until about
65-70% throttle stick location. Then increase rate of pitch again until 100% throttle.
Decreasing the knob does the opposite. After getting the best settings, just switch the
dipswitch back to lock the desired settings.
Now for the GYRO gain. this can also be set on the TX.
Just flick the Dipswitch #12 and the Walkera light will turn darker Blue.
The V1 knob provides rudder mixing, for the V2 this increases the gyro sensitivity.
Just set it back to center to make both of the curves equal.
